Ramapough Medicinal Garden
Mrs. Flandera spent many hours figuring
out what plants were of medicinal use, creating a
learning curriculum, and then planting the beds with our
new additions! It looks great! Can't wait until
everything is nice and filled in!
Kindergarten
Busy as ever, the Kindergarteners
experimented creating a rainbow garden. This garden was
created by putting food coloring in the water and seeing
if the white carnations would change color! It worked!

First Grade
First graders nurtured, from seed, squash
and bean plants inside their classroom. Just before the
end of school, they planted the bean plants.
Unfortunately, the squash didn't make it, Wonder what
September will bring?
Second Grade
For the second year in a row, the second
graders weeded their garden bed and planted sunflowers.
By September of last year, they were stunning, greeting
everyone who came into school with their cheerful smiles
and wide open arms. Hopefully, they will be just a
lovely this year. Mother Nature, however, always keeps
us on our toes.
Third Grade
Since they already planted peppers,
eggplants, tomatoes, earlier this season, the third
grade spent June weeding and encouraging the plants to
grow. Hopefully, the deer and other animals won't eat
them over the summer. Either way, they are looking great
so far.
Wishing all our Peter Cooper students a
great and bountiful summer! |
