Back to School Garden Activities

Kindergarten: The pepper plants grew nice and big. The peppers are ready for harvesting now that the kids are back in school. Our pumpkin plants, however, didn't do so well. They flowered but never produced 'fruit'.

First Grade: The beets that the first grade planted last June are huge! They are the size of potatoes and parsnips and ready to harvest!

Second Grade: The sunflowers grew tall and wonderful. What a beautiful way to welcome everyone to the garden entrance.

Third Grade: The eggplant and tomatoes grew in abundance. Its time to pick everything before the animals help themselves to a wonderful snack.

Ramapough Gardens: Both the raspberry bushes and blueberry bushes established themselves this summer. We've just put down a layer of mulch to help them through the winter. Additional plants will be added to the 'medicinal garden' plot this year. We are still working on the choice of plant.
